Seven Year Old Qualifies for
Golf World Championship
Alice Hodge, a local 7 year old who attends Murray Avenue Elementary School and plays at Bonnie Briar Country Club, shot a nine hole score of 40 (four over par) and placed first in a World Championship Qualifier tournament held at Glen Ellen Country Club in Millis, Massachusetts on Saturday May 22. As a result of her outstanding performance, she qualified to play in one of the biggest junior golf events in the world…the US Kid’s Golf World Championship in Pinehurst, NC. There will be over 1,200 kids ages 12 and under from across the US and more than 30 countries. Hodge will be competing in the three-day tournament in August with approximately 50 girls in her age division from such far away places as New Zealand and the Czech Republic as well as many states across the U.S..
