Volunteers Needed for
Meals on Wheels Program

The Town of Mamaroneck Community Services Office administers the Meals on Wheels Program, serving home-bound senior citizens of the Town of Mamaroneck and the Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck. The program has grown and expanded over the past two years and additional volunteers are needed to deliver meals.

Meals are picked up from “Lunch with Lou”, a local catering service located in the CVS parking lot behind Mamaroneck Avenue in Mamaroneck, and delivered to seniors between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm Monday through Saturday and most holidays. A car is needed for delivery. Routes are defined geographically within the tri-municipality to maximize prompt and efficient delivery service.

Volunteers may work alone or in teams and may select regularly scheduled day(s) of the week, or sign up as an on-call substitute. At least one member of the team must be 18 years of age or older and must have a car and a valid driver’s license. The Saturday delivery is a great opportunity for parents and children to team up to help senior citizens in the community.
